JGarden Description:Thes gardens were built around this renowned merchant family residence include a variety of interesting features. There are actually four gardens here: a stroll garden designed around a pond, an iris garden, a yatsuhashi (zig-zag bridge) garden, and a fourth garden off the study. The latter is said to have been constructed from aterials removed from the old Kuwana-jo Castle garden. The pond garden is very lush and is dotted with low, stone lanterns, a prayer rock and several subtly integrated pines. A flagstone path bisects a cleared area under a fuji-dana (wisteria arbor).
