JGarden Description:On the site of a villa originally built for Emperor Kameyama in 1274, this Nanzenji sub-temple has undergone numerous reconstructions, the most recent being in the Edo period. The pond and stroll garden here is off the beaten track but is still worth a visit. 




With the years that have passed by
It has grown austere and holy
   On Mount Kageru:
The cedar tree, upright like a spear,
Already has a layer of moss at the root.
