JGarden Description:A Victorian mansion and gardens, located at the north end of Canandaigua Lake, in the heart of the Finger Lakes Region in Upstate New York.

Formerly the summer home of Canandaigua benefactors Frederick Ferris and Mary Clark Thompson, Sonnenberg (German for 'sunny hill') is open to the public.

Explore the mansion, stroll the grounds and walk through the many beautiful gardens. In addition to the Japanese garden, Sonnenberg includes a conservator, a butterfly garden, an italian garden, a rock garden and a reflecting pool.

The fishing grounds at Kehi
must be yielding their riches today;
scattering about on the waves,
like freshly cut reeds, I can see
the boats of fisherman.
