Added to JGarden:
The largest Japanese garden in Britain.
Built in 1910 by the Japanese who had everything sent over in boxes and reassembled on site. The garden includes a teahouse and garden connected to an island, with a Shinto shrine; a pagoda; and a temple. The surrounding site was an asian plants arboretum built around 1800. The garden occasionally offers public Japanese garden classes and workshops.
In addition to the Japanese garden, Tatton Park has a Mansion and Tudor Old Hall are set in 1,000 acres of rolling parkland with lakes, tree-lined avenues and herds of deer.
