Best known for their Japanese-style and Southwestern-style gardens, and innovative water-features, they have considerable experience with large estates.
Martin Mosko, the founder, is a landscape architect trained in both Eastern and Western traditions. He was initially educated at Yale College and University. He was then trained as a Zen Buddhist monk, with Tenzan Keibun Roshi, whose lineage he continues. He also studied Tibetan Buddhism for twenty-five years with Chogyam Trungpa Rimpoche.
He began his career as a poet and painter and in 1974 he founded Marpa and Associates, where he sought to bring his artistic vision into living space. With colleague Alxe Noden, Mosko published the book, Landscape as Spirit, in 2003.
Other principles include Scott Deeme, Alxe Noden, and Dante Oritz.
